CERN goes for bigger collider

Yesterday CERN put forward a proposal for a bigger, more expensive version of the Large Hadron Collider. The ‘Future Circular Collider’ (FCC), as CERN calls it, would be an electron-positron machine in a 100km circular tunnel compared to the LHC’s 27km tunnel.
